TxDOT work on Athens square to begin June 10

ATHENS — The Texas Department of Transportation will be working on the Henderson County Courthouse square in Athens next week during the evening hours.

The TxDOT Tyler office reports that contract crews will be downtown repairing and resurfacing the pavement for several days starting Monday, June 10.

To create as little disruption of business, the work will be done after normal business areas.

TxDOT advises motorists that parking will not be allowed in or around the square between the hours of 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday during the project.

TxDOT workers have been visible in the county repairing roads to make them ready for seal coating.

On Monday, crews are scheduled to perform seal-coat operations on Farm-to-Market Road 1214 in Caney City, FM 3062 in Star Harbor, and FM 2636 southeast of Malakoff.
