Athens — A large crowd was on hand for the Athens Intermediate School ribbon cutting Wednesday morning. Everyone from school board members to comunity leaders and faculty and staff came out to celebrate the new additions.
Dr. Joe Mike Murphy spoke of his father Mr. Joe Murphy, who served as principal at the school for more than 20 years. He said his father was known for being a very good leader.
