Athens — The Trinity Valley Community College Cardinals have been selected to play in next month's C.H.AM.P.S Heart of Texas Bowl, to be held at Bulldawg Stadium in Copperas Cove, TX.

The Cardinals, ranked No. 6 in the nation with a 9-2 record, will face the 12th-ranked Mesa (Az.) Community College Thunderbirds, who are 8-2. Mesa was the runner-up in the Western States Conference after losing to Scottsdale Community College, 45-31, last Saturday.

The bowl game is set for 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 7.

It will be TVCC's first bowl game appearance since 2011, when the Cardinals lost to Butler CC, 21-17, at the Citizen’s Bank Bowl in Pittsburg, Kansas.

TVCC is 9-9 all-time.
