The Henderson County Performing Arts Center announces the opening of four summer camps beginning on Monday, June 10.
There will be two performance camps for children ages 6-7 during the week of June 10-14 and the second for children ages 8-9 during the week of June 17-21. There will be presentations for each camp on Friday, June 14 and Friday, June 21 at 6:30 p.m.
The younger camp will be doing an adaptation of a children’s book and the older campers will do a one-act play. The instructor for these camps is Sara Corley, former member of the theatre’s education department and a part-time teacher and director at Frankston ISD. Tuition for the camps is $100 for the week. The camps run from 1-5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The second camps are Tap Dance Camps under the direction of professional choreographer Marcia Colbert Tarrance. These camps are the same two weeks but are from 11 a.m. to noon each day. Tuition is $50 for the week. The camps are open for tappers age 7-11 a.m. There is a break on the tuition if you take both weeks. There is also a break for taking the Tap Camp in the morning and the Performance Camp in the afternoon.
Camps are filling up quickly, so call 903-675-3908 to register your camper.
