Little information known regarding Trinidad murder
TRINIDAD — Area law officers are investigating the murder of a man found shot to death in Trinidad Wednesday.
The victim’s identity had not been released as of Thursday afternoon, according to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department.
The Trinidad Police Department is heading the investigation into the death, with assistance of the the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department and Texas Ranger Trace McDonald.
Henderson County Sheriff’s Department dispatch received a 9-1-1 call at 7:09 p.m. reporting a gunshot victim at 1201 Leagueline Road. Investigators Michael Teal and Caresa Ballard arrived at the scene to assist TPD with the case.
The man’s body was found at the back of the residence.
Justice of the Peace Pct. 5. Tommy Barnett pronounced the victim dead and ordered the body sent to the Southwest Medical Center in Dallas for an autopsy.
Authorities are following leads and have identified some possible suspects, according to the sheriff’s department.
