WHAT'S YOUR OPINION? Boy Scouts pondering allowing gay scouts, leaders

The Athens Review

ATHENS — The Boy Scouts of America are wrestling with whether to end a long-standing policy banning gays as scouts or adult leaders. A decision expected to be made Wednesday was postponed, but the organization is examining whether to allow local troops to decide the issue for themselves.

Whether you have a scout or not, we want to know: would lifting the ban make you more likely to allow your children to join and participate in scouting, or would you be less likely to participate or withdraw your child from a troop altogether?

A sampling of responses will be used in an upcoming edition of the Athens Review. Please offer specific reasons for your reasoning, but remember to be tasteful in your responses. Your name must accompany your opinion.
