(Continued)

KEMP —

“I think we resonate with crowds because we really work hard at putting on a good show, and we play music that appeals to music fans of all ages,” Beery says.

Just Us is scheduled to play Friday night from 7 – 10. Free parking and free beer and soft drinks are included with the admission ticket. Everyone who enters the gate will receive a souvenir cup. If you plan to enjoy the free beer, be sure to bring your I.D. (There is a three drink limit per ticket holder.) Plenty of food and concessions also will be available.

“We hope to have hundreds of people come out for this fun event. It’s going to be a great place for college students home on break to gather for a night of fun, and adults and kids of all ages are sure to enjoy the festival atmosphere,” Poulter says.

Tickets are available at the gate the night of the event. Cost is $20 ($10 for kids ten and under), and that includes the freestyle show, concert, and the free drinks. Those who wish to ride the track during the day today can participate in the entire event for $30. Campsites and limited RV hook-ups are available. If you want to camp, call the park to ensure space availability.

For more information, visit undergroundmxpark.com or call 903 498 4659. To reach the track, take Highway 274 north from Seven Points or south from Kemp, go four miles to the Tolosa Feed Store, turn west on FM 3396, and go four miles. Racing flags clearly mark the park entrance.

  • Corsicana firefighter killed in one-car crash

An off-duty Corsicana fireman was killed and his two young sons were injured in a one-car crash on FM 709 north of Dawson Tuesday night.

An off-duty Corsicana fireman was killed and his two young sons were injured in a one-car crash on FM 709 north of Dawson Tuesday night.

Justice of the Peace Jackie Freeland identified the deceased fireman as Louis Lachney, 46. He was a Lieutenant with the Corsicana Fire Department.

The crash was reported at 11:27 p.m. Tuesday and occurred  at a sharp curve in the roadway on FM 709 about two miles north of State Highway 31 near Dawson.

DPS Sgt. Thomas Moore, supervisor at the crash site, said Lachney’s convertible Mazda was traveling north on FM 709 and failed to negotiate a sharp curve, leaving the roadway and overturning several times.

Moore said Lachney and his two sons who were passengers in the car were all ejected from the vehicle. Moore said the three were apparently not wearing seat belts.

The two injured boys walked to the roadway following the crash where they were discovered by a passing motorist, who notified law enforcement of the crash.

Moore said the two boys were transported by air ambulance to a Dallas hospital. He said they were in serious but stable condition when transported from the crash site.

DPS Trooper LaTonya Daniels is investigating the crash. Corsicana EMS, volunteer firefighters, and Navarro County Sheriff's Office deputies assisted at the crash site. - See more at: http://www.corsicanadailysun.com/local/x611407136/Corsicana-firefighter-killed-in-one-car-crash#sthash.cKzZVvbj.dpuf
