Lady Cardinals win nailbiter over Weatherford, 75-70

SALINA, Kan. — The Trinity Valley Community College Lady Cardinals pulled out a nailbiter in their opening round game at the National Tournament.

In the end, the Lady Cardinals advanced to Thursday's quarterfinal matchup with a, 75-70 win over Weatherford on Wednesday afternoon.

Weatherford jumped out to a, 20-6 lead lead early in the game before TVCC cut the lead to 39-38 at the intermission.

TVCC was led in scoring by Shannon Smith with 20 points while Krystle Henderson scored 13 points. TVCC freshman Adut Bulgak finished with a double-double of 10 points and 15 rebounds, while Patton had 10 points and two rebounds.
