Baseball not being added to TVCC sports lineup

ATHENS — Trinity Valley Community College today reaffirmed it is not adding baseball to its athletic department, nor is it exploring that possibility at this time.

College administrators said they recently became aware of an individual who has contacted businesses and individuals soliciting funds to defray costs for beginning a baseball program at the college.

The day may come when Dr. (Glendon) Forgey and the board decide to add baseball, but we are not considering at this time,” said TVCC athletic director Brad Smiley. “We want the public to know this individual is not associated with the college and does not represent us.”
