NJCAA WOMEN'S NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP: National semifinal matchup set

Athens — The No. 1 ranked Trinity Valley Community College Lady Cardinals will face off against Gulf Coast State Friday night at 6 p.m. for a chance to reach the tournament finals.

The Lady Cardinals defeated the Blinn Buccaneers, 90-69, Thursday night in the national quarterfinals while Gulf Coast State defeated Shelton State, 72-61, in the second game of the day.

TVCC sophomore Shannon Smith scored a game-high 31 points and went 7 of 10 from 3 point territory.
