On days with unfavorable light winds, hunting guide Brad Smythe says it can be a good idea to try off beat tactics like hunting with the wind in your face instead of at your back. Smythe says the slight ripple on the surface created by a light wind will add some movement to a decoy spread and make it appear more appealing to wary birds.
