A memorial fund was started in the name of Carl Henry Thomas III, a Kaufman County Patrol Sergeant for the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office. The fund will be established for first responders who work for any fire or law enforcement agency in Kaufman County that find themselves in a devastating life situation without any means of support. The memorial fund has also established a scholarship for Kemp and Kaufman high school graduates interested in law enforcement.
