No one was seriously injured when a East Texas Medical Center ambulance struck a utility pole Friday. Driver Jerry H. Rhone, 36, told police that he took evasive action to miss an animal that had run in front of him on East Tyler Street, hit a curb, then struck the pole. Officer James Graham worked the wreck for the Athens Police Department.
