FRONT Pinocchio for area schools-1.JPG

Elementary school students from Canton and Malakoff were the first to enjoy “Pinocchio Commedia,” the Trinity Valley Community College Theatre Department’s latest show, Wednesday morning in front of the Student Union Building. Two more performances will be held for area elementary students Thursday, and public shows will be held Friday (6:30 p.m., McDonald Plaza, TVCC Athens campus) and Saturday (11 a.m. and 1 p.m., East Texas Arboretum, 1601 Patterson Road, Athens). A $5 suggested donation will be collected Friday evening, while Saturday’s show is free with admission to the Arboretum’s Fall Fest (admission is $5 per carload). Pictured above, Pinocchio (played by Ashley King) learns about life from Columbina (a Spirit, played by Rochelle Straw).
