Athens — The Athens Police Department is investigating a break-in at a business in which two company trucks were stolen.

Assistant Chief of Police Rodney Williams III said APD dispatch received a call Wednesday morning reporting the break-in at Athens Transfer Company at 2705 West Corsicana Street.

Patrolman William Carlow responded to the location and spoke to an employee who had found the front door damaged and a window broken. Keys to the missing vehicles had been removed from the office.

Police reports state the missing trucks were a 1990 GMC pickup and a 1985 Chevrolet pickup used in the moving and storage business.

Information gathered at the scene has been turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division. Detective Corporal James Bonnette is heading the investigation.
