Haley Calhoun, a freshman at Cross Roads High School, exhibited Registered Texas Longhorns at the East Texas State Fair in Tyler over the past weekend. She claimed First Place and Grand Champion Mature unhaltered cow with TNT Whelming Wild West with calf BRR Pistol Peach at side. Haley also received Second Place and Reserve Grand Champion Junior Trophy Steer unhaltered with DL Brooklyn's Ruger and Second in the junior haltered steers. She also placed a 4th and 7th with heifer DL Suspicious. Calhoun is also the vice president of the East Texas Longhorn Association Youth Division, vice president of Chandler 4-H, a member of the Cross Roads FFA, and a member of the Cross Roads High School Band Colorguard. Calhoun has shown longhorns for two years, and will be exhibiting in November at the Kaufman Police Association Annual Longhorn Show held in Terrell.
