Truck hits power pole.jpg

A crew from Oncor and other workers remove a power pole that was shattered when a power pole slammed into it on State Highway 19 south of Athens, Tuesday afternoon. Witnesses said the pick up blew a front tire, lost control, then sheared light pole as it jack knifed,. The occupants, a man and woman from Mississippi escaped injury. Virginia Hill Water Company and other utilities had to be contacted before the truck could be removed.
