LaPoynor Flyers Rusk Tourney Champs.JPG

The No. 13-ranked LaPoynor Flyers competed in the Rusk Tournament this past weekend, winning the tournament over Class 4A Cedar Creek 56-47 in the championship game. LaPoynor is now 17-3 overall and 1-0 in district play and will play Harleton tonight and then host Martins Mill on Friday. The Flyers had three players named to the All-Tournament team in Mason Motal, Octavious Crear and James Jackson. LaPoynor was led in the title game by Motal with 12 points and eight rebounds, Colton Clair had 10 points, Jackson had nine points and 17 rebounds, Crear had nine points and six assists, Lane McClelland had seven points, Seth Anderson had five points and Xavier Oliver and Jacorey Williams had two points each.
