Ann Morse

Business Manager Ann Morse has held three jobs in her 71 years. She retired from Sears in 1987 after 33 years with that retailer, first in a store in Houston, then in its corporate accounting department. She supervised 20 people at the time of her retirement. She retired to be at home, but soon decided to go back to work, so joined a firm that operated 20 Piggly Wiggly stores and headquartered in Tyler. She handled payroll and accounts payable. She came to Athens Review in 1989 because it is closer to her home in Murchison, where she and her husband, Tommy, operate a farm that has been in her family for 100 years. They have what she calls a "large garden" and operate a produce stand in Murchison every summer. They also raise watermelons and registered Brangus cattle and do custom hay baling. The couple's watermelons have built a following over the years. The Moreses have one daughter, Jeanie.
